Flying to Greece from Canada and United States of America

You can fly directly from Montreal, Toronto, or New York to Greece. For the rest of the cities in North America, you have to transit through Western Europe with famous cities of Paris, Rome, Barcelona, London, Frankfurt or Amsterdam as your possible lay-over.  You can also fly directly to Athens and some of the islands of Greece from these cities. However, direct flights are not available to the other Greek islands from Canada or USA.

One useful hack to pay less for flights is to book multi-city tickets if you are going for a tour of the different Greek islands. For example, you can fly from Rome to Athens then depart from Santorini to go back to Rome. 
The period of January to March is the ideal time to book your plane tickets. 

Flying to Greece from Ireland and United Kingdom

From London and Manchester, you can fly directly to Athens and most of the islands of Greece. You can also fly directly from Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Liverpool to Athens. Then you can take a plane or ride a ferry to the other islands of Greece from Athens.

Flying to Greece from France

To get to Greece from France, you need to go through Paris first. Planes fly directly to Athens and other Greek islands’ international airport from Paris. Non-stop flights are also available from Bordeaux, Marseilles, Lyon, Nice, Nantes and Toulouse to Athens. Then ride a ferry or  take a connecting flight to the other islands of Greece from Athens.

Flying to Greece from Italy

During the summer, direct flights are available to Santorini from Milan, Rome, Florence, Venice, Bologna, Turin and Pisa and to other famous islands of Greece. For the rest of the year, regular flights are available from, Rome, Venice, Florence, Bologna, Turin, Pisa, Bari, Palermo, Genoa and Verona to Athens.

Flying to the other islands of Greece from Athens

In general, international flights have destinations in the islands of Greece (Mykonos, Crete, Santorini, Kos, Rhodes, Lesvos, Kefalonia, Corfu, Samos, Skiathos and Zakynthos) run only for the summer. Flights to these islands from Athens are available all throughout the year. The islands of Chios, Naxos, Skiathos and Paros also have airports just for domestic flights. 

Still subject to change, but currently no direct flights are available between Santorini and Mykonos. You need to transit through Athens on Aegean Airline or Olympic Air or ride a ferry that run between Santorini and Mykonos.
